Storia delle invasioni degli arabi e delle piraterie dei barbareschi in Sardegna
Re-edition of the original work of Pietro Martini that was published in 1861. This book is interesting also because it is partly based on falsified sources of the nineteenth century, the so-called Carte d'Arborea

La Sardegna dei Giudici
Medieval history of Sardinia from the Byzantine empire until the Spanish Aragonese took control of the island. It was the time of the rule of the Giudici in Sardinia, the influence of Pisa and Genua and the popes trying to gain control over Sardinia. A very fine written history by Gian Giacomo Ortu.
Edizioni Maestrale , Nuoro 2005
Vita di Eleonora D'Arborea
Based on the archives of the Aragonese court at Barcellona and many other historical sources Bianca Pitzorno tells the story of the life and death of Eleonora d'Arborea, the last of the Giudici to reign over the Giudicato of Arborea and almost all of Sardinia before it finally was subdued by the Aragonese. Her story telling is fascinating, combining historical facts with fiction on how it could have been lived by the protagonists themselves.
