The Giara di Gesturi is a highland plateau. Here live the horses, the cavallino della giara, but there is also a variety of flora thanks to the ponds in the rainy seasons. Access to the highland plateau is limited.

The horses of the Giara are considered of particular interest for Sardinia. They live and move freely on the highland of the Giara and are not easily approachable, although they are used to the presence of man.

You will find the huts of the shepherds, the pinnettas similar to the bronze age huts, which have been used for centuries as a shelter.
